Okay here is the actual type of hip replacement I opted for. Please don't watch video if you cannot view any blood, bones etc.

Hip replacement Day 18 tesimonial, operation by Dr. Vijay

Today is Day 18 on my hip resurfacing journey. My leg feels much stronger today. My daily routine involves, doing ankle pumps in the morning, as many of the hip exercises as I can and then move on to preparing breakfast, getting both kids ready for school.

Then I drop my kid downstairs where his van picks him up.

Now I move onto performing the leg exercises all over again. 10 times each.
Then 10 rounds of walking in the corridor which is pretty long.

Either rest a bit, read or listen to motivational audios, exercise.

I try to repeat the exercise atleast once in a couple of hours, ideally once every hour.

2:10 pm I go down bring my kid home. From then on, it is focus on kid time, listen to him, play with him.

His friend comes over to play at 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm and they have a blast. I spend time meeting people, monitoring kids, preparing snacks for kids.

Then the day ends with early dinner, family time with kids and hubby, reviewing our days, what we did at school home and office.

Hip Resurfacing India Day 17, 2014 India

Yesterday was Day 17 , that it a total of 17 days after my hip replacement was performed by Dr. Vijay Bose at Chennai.

I can walk without the aid of crutches at home. I have not learnt how to navigate steps without them yet so I haven't tired to.

Though I must say the walk is wobbly and I have to really focus on keeping the torso straight. My operated leg is still a bit numb, gets a bit itchy, and nerve tingling is there.

Doctor had prescribed a tablet for this 10 days ago, the tablet should be consumed for 10 days.

The sensation has reduced quite a bit over the past few days. I still need to recover entirely.

Yesterday was Sunday, the whole family is at home. We had appam and stew for breakfast. Kichdi and pizza for lunch. Yes it was assorted.

I got to go out for the first time after my hip replacement operation (excluding the trip from hospital to home).

It felt fun, kids loved it, and felt stronger and confident.

I was a bit tired coming back home and we didn't do much else after the trip though. Anyways Day 17got over and onto school day Mondays which are totally hectic and quite tough to navigate with breakfast to make and boxes to pack.

Hip Resurfacing Testimonia Day 14 I can walk without crutches

Yippeee!

This is awesome, just my 14th day and I can walk without crutches. Though my gait is wobbly I cna manage to walk without the walking stick.

This is a great accomplishment and that is why I recommend hip resurfacing over hip replacement. Hip resurfacing makes recovery faster and quicker and you can do a lot more stuff faster.

Also you dont have the limitations of hip replacement, making life funner.

What is the cost of total hip replacement in India

Hip joint replacement in india can be quite expensive. I have no medical insurance and had to arrange for funds.

Both my hips need replacement, I got my left hip replacement performed on September 3' 2014.

The cost of hip replacement in India varies depending on the type of implant, the hospital charges, the doctor fees.

My hip replacement fees were very nominal and my doctor fees was the lowest possible. The major chunk of my costs were for the hospital room, I took a single room (the cheapest available). They also have a ward and it cots lesser than this room.

It is surprising that the charge for my doctor for the surgery was minimal, the rest was all hospital costs. My doctor is the best doctor and I highly recommend him.

I would suggest instead of worrying about cost of hip replacement you need to think and give weight-age to who the doctor is, can you trust him, is he genuine and caring, is he someone who understands your requirements.

I had two choices for total hip replacement, one was delta motion and another metal on metal.  I could not opt for BMHR or Birmingham Hip Replacement as my hip joint was almost gone, it had worn off or whatever medical term there might be.

My doctor showed me my xrays, explained many things and showed me my options.

After surgery he visited me and showed me pictures of before and after which I will be posting here.

Total hip replacement india

I had total hip resurfacing performed on September 3rd, 2014. Today is Day 10 (13 Sept). I can walk with crutches and will be posting my video here soon.

Since I was suffering from AVN for a long time I needed a lot more time than usual to regain confidence in walking.

Before I went in for hip resurfacing I had considered hip replacement initially. I think I visited the first orthepedic doctor in 2012 after my son was born, I was almost bed ridden with excruciatong pain.

I couldn't walk, couldn't move, sometimes breathing itself made it pain more.

When I visited the doctor he mentioned I needed a hip replacement soon ( my left one). Hesounded hurried, too casual and acted as though it didn't matter much.

He said he had replaced the hip joint for lots of youngsters and he seemed impatient. This was one of the leading doctors in Mumbai, India, in one of the leading hospitals.

Something just didn't feel right, so inspite of immense excrutiating pain I decided against it.

4 years later and after years of struggle I got my hip resurfaced finally last week and I am so so happy and glad I waited.

Replacement means they cut your bone off, which is a breathing living part of your body.

Resurfacing tries to retain what they can of your bone, hence you recover faster and can do much more faster.
